Class Compact

Our rules are simple! Be respectful. Be safe. Work hard. Have fun!

Our classroom is it's own little community that runs much more smoothly with teamwork. Each student has a primary job to try their very best to learn. In order for students to stay motivated and learn as much as possible we have a special economic system. I think it is fun and holds the students accountable for their work and behavior.

Here is how it works! We have the clip chart pictured to the left. Everyone starts their day on "green," which means ready to learn. Students then move up or down as the day progresses depending on effort, participation, and behavior. Here are the color codes which will be stamped in each student's agenda each day.

GOLD- SUPER STUDENT
PURPLE- EXCELLENT EFFORT
BLUE- WAY TO GO
GREEN- READY TO LEARN
YELLOW- WARNING MAKE BETTER CHOICES
ORANGE-TEACHER'S CHOICE
RED- PARENT CONTACT

Each day when a student turns in his or her homework they earn one class dollar (pictured to the right.) Students have the opportunity to spend their money at my class store every other Friday, or chose something off of the reward menu. If they do not have an assignment, or move down the clip chart, they pay me a dollar. Students do classroom or school jobs to earn money as well. I also pay for outstanding behavior and exemplary work!
